CORRESPONDENCE

(To the Editor.) Sir—Can the Carnival Organiser give any reason why no band paraded in Wednesday’s precession. We did not cone to see a (funeral. The Organiser has been blamed right and left for this mess-uh, but is this fair? I noticed also thftt the Bandmaster called upon baffdsmen to assist with an outside programme at the Coronation ceremony, but no band played. What does all this mean? Will the Council, or Chamber of Commerce, sift this band trouble and see wlmt is really wrong? Even while there are a few; willing band enthusiasts they should be encouraged, and the ratepaytyrst should know who are the malcontents hindering the formation of a good band. —I am, etc., RATEPAYER.
