HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. The High Commissioner's cable, dated 19th instant, reads: — Manila market steady, but scarcely any demand. J grade, Janu-ary-Marcli shipment to MarchMay shipment, now quoted at £3B per ton, buyers. New Zealand neglected, nominally unchanged; highpoints spot £ls per (on; MarchMay shipment £42 per ton; fair £43, £4O per ton respectively. At this week's public sale 4,781 bales were offered, but met with very little demand, and practically all were withdrawn.
