Auckland, March 21. The Prices Tribunal conferred with the master butchers with regard to t-fce retail prices of meat. After discussion Mr Spragg (chairman) compared the wholesale and retail prices ruling last September compared with the present prices, and said that the differences at the yards was a drop of 2.64 pence, while the drop retail was only 1.49. Mr Lane, president of the Butchers’ Association, replied that in September the butchers were selling meat at a heavy loss. They could not make any reductions below those already announced.
