Levin Y.M.C.A. team paid another v:>il to Foxton yesterday, and were defeated by a local team, the scores being, Foxton 110, Levin 53. The Foxton eleven was skipped by Tattersall, who had his men well placed in I lie field, and despite the fact flint they were one man short, fielded smartly and kepi the visitors’ .-core io the minimum. A peculiar feature of the game was the number of wickets Levin lost by their men being run out, no less than four ■men failing to reach the crease before the hales were displaced. This was partly due to the smart work in throwing in and of the men at the wickets. Burnett did good work behind the wickets, which is evident by the absence of byes, only two leg byes being registered throughout t lie Levin innings. Beeves and Hirini again had a good day trundling the leather. For Foxton, Hirini put up an excellent showing, compiling 45 runs before being caught by Patrick off W. Clark’s bowling. Tattersall looked good far any number of runs, but in an endeavour to swipe a full pitcher from Farland for a boundary lie missed, and the ball lobbed mi his stumps, AA r . Clark and Patrick took most of the wickets for Levin, both bowling well, especially Patrick, who delivers a good legbreak ball. W. Clark made a good -land at the wickets, reaching a total of 22 not out. The following are I lie detailed scores: — FOXTON. Tattersall. b Farland 27 Claris, b AY. Clark 8 Hirini, c Patrick, b W.
