Sir.—l have waited to see if anyone supported the statement made to you a few days ago by an old settler, viz., that the late spell oi; dry weather was the longest experienced'for thirty years. It rained heavily on January 21st. Was he asleep then? It rained again on February 22nd —one month’s dry spell. And for 30 years it hits not been so dry! I am surprised that some, of your keen scrutineer correspondents have allowed such a statement to pass unchallenged.;'jjgr--1 am, etc., *
