Yesterday afternoon a rink from the Otaki Club visited Fox ton and played a local team. The green played well, and a very enjoyable, game resulted. Whibley (s) 18 Bills (s) H A gala day arranged by the Manawatu Centre was held on the Feinting green yesterday, when visiting howlers from all the neighbouring clubs were in attendance. Foxton was represented by one rink, and the following are the details of the game in which they took part: Foxton. Feilding. Smith Williams Walker Woods Nye (s) 18 Bartholomew (s) 18
The holders of the Scott Feathers (Vanticr, Collins, Simmons and Hancock, skip), successfully defended their title from a challenging link (Oram, Ilodder, Horne and Wimsetl, (skip), on the .Palmerston North Club’s green on Saturday. An interesting game ended 11-10 in favour of the holders.
A rink from the Manawatu Bowling Club went to Feilding on Saturday and unsuccessfully endeavoured to capture the Dixon Cup from the Feilding rink which won it from Palmerston North Club the previous Saturday. The holders (Miles, Claphain. Bartholomew, and Chappell, skip) are a strong combination, and though the Manawatu Club’s representatives (Jones, Brown, Foster, and Brackenridge, skip) put up a very determined strafe, they were on the debit side at the end of the 21st head, the gave ending 20-15 in Fcilding’s favour.
