SWIMMING.

On Friday last the head teacher of the local State School (Mr Furrie) took the boys to the river to swim their distance tests. The result is as follows: —One mile (1,700 yards): H. Huff, W. Christie; 1,400 yards, D. Williams; 980 yards, E. Admorc; 880 yards, 11. Perreau; 520 yards, 11. Fuller; 270 yards, T. Fuller; 270 yards, B. Crowe; 100 yards, K. de Ridder, J. Shaw, 11. Hartley, W. Wright, R. Hartley, B. Head, G. Westwood; 125 yards, A. Kennedy; 50 yards (beginners), J. Coley, W. Newtli. Each of the boys will gain a certificate from the N.Z. Swimming Association.
