THE AUSTRALIAN' TOUR. AIANAWATU EASILY BEATEN. Palmerston N., Feb. IC. The Australians heat Manawatu by an innings and 73 runs. The Australians in their first innings made 314 runs —Liddicut not out 153, Asher CO. The principal scorer for Afanawatu in the second innings (which produced only C 9 runs) was Pcgden 3!) not out, who was the only batsman lo reach double figures.
As a result of the meeting called locally a week ago, Air Furrie has purchased a hat and hall for practice purposes. On Saturday next a practice strike will he held on Victoria Park pitch in the afternoon. Permission lias been granted by the Borough Council for a pitch to he put down on Easton Park, and it is expected that this will be proceeded with shortly. In respect of the purchase of material, donations from players will he welcomed, in order to pay for material now in hand and to purchase further requirements. This material will become the property of the club next season when same is formed.
