OROUA-MANAWATU RIVER BOARD.

A meeting of the committee appointed in connection with the formation of the proposed Oroua_-Ma-nawntu River Board was held at Mr A. H. Grant’s office, Palmerston N., on Tuesday last. The following members were present : —Messrs R. T. Bell (in 1 lie chair), A, J. GallLehan (Rangiotu), J. Richardson (Shannon), H. Akers (Linton). ML Smith (Mouloa). It was reported by theNarious members that excellent progress had been made in obtaining signatures to the necessary property owners’ petition, the number secured practically assuring the successful formation of the river board, a large majority of the. owners in belli the Makerua and Moutoa districts having signed. Another meeting will lie held within a month, when the number of signatures to the petition will be definitely ascertained, and the necessary action taken to complete the formation of the board.
