MANAWATU-OROUA RIVER BOARD.
The petition praying for the constitution of a River Board to control the Msmawatu and Oroua rivers is being signed, with one 'or two exceptions, by settlers whose land is contiguous with tlie rivers in this part of the district.' The few who have not yet signed, while not opposed to a Board of Control, desire further information as to the nature of protective work to be undertaken.
