PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
A congregational social*of the .hove church was held in the schoolroom Jasl night, for the purpose <>t ./resenting a cheque ol £SO, on liehalf of the charge, to the minister, Rev. T. halliday. The Foxton and Aangiolu churches were well represented. The schoolroom was nicely irranged for I lie gathering. Mr Vlex. Speirs made the prcsentalion, vhieh, he said, was by way ol bonus from the charge to compensate for ihe present high cost of living, he paid a tribute to the ministers work throughout the charge, which was ■ndoi'sed by ot her members of Committee. The Rev. and Mrs ITalliday feelingly responded to the ■ peechos of appreciation. During lie evening the Foxton choir rendered several items, which were much appreciated. Air Barr also eoutribuled two vocal numbers. The lndis of the congregation dispensed upper at the close of a very enjoyable evening.
