BOWLING

The New Zealand Bowling Association tournament commenced at Wellington yesterday, in perfect weather. Foxton is represented by one rink — Roore, Woods, Nye, F. D. Whiblcy (s) —who played two matches at Eastbourne, green yesterday. The results were: —Rennie (Christchurch) 19, heat- Whiblcy (Foxton) 17; Tasker (Wellington) 31, heat Whiblcy 19. The method of play i< as follows: In each of the sixteen sections there are ten teams, and each team plays two games of twenty-live beads each. After eight games have been played those who continue play will be section winners. All rinks in any section which win the same number of games, or any rink living for any section, will play off, until the section winner is discovered. After the section play is complete the full twolife system will be applied t<> all teams left in, each.team when twice beaten drops out. In tlie.se matches twenty-one heads will be played.
