BOOKMAKER FINED.
TWENTY-FIVE FOUNDS PENALTY. Wellington, Dec. 29. - Vincent S. Stanislaus, barman, who was charged at the Magistrate’s Court to-day with using the bar of the New' Commercial Hotel as a common gaming house, pleaded guilty. The police stated that hooks ■and«papers found indicated that Stanislaus was not in the hooknuiking business in a largo way. Ho was not of the class that"they wanted to make ah extreme example of. Accused was lined £25, or two months’ imprisonment. t .
