There three roads to select from between Eketahuna and Maurieevilie—the old coach road along the hill side, a diversion of this inrjiing to (he left at the cemetery called the "Boren road, and one which goes along the flat- to the west of the hills. All ■ these roads arc in fair order. The limestone road through Mauricoyille is very trying to the eyes in bright sunlight, and is well-potted. There is a fine stretch of excellent road 'from Kopuaranga to Masterton,’and on to Waingawa. From the Tara la hi plains to Carterton it is impossible to dodge the rnjs for several mile,s. From Carterton lo Greytown the going is good, hnl after ■leaving Grcytown en route to Tanherenikan the road is execrable, yet hereabouts are millions wf (ons of 1 metal!
