The lirst mat eh this season for the Dixon Cup was played on the Bahtiers (on North green on Saturday afternoon, when the holders, Seifert, 'Welch, J. A. Nash, N. TL Nash (s), were challenged by Thorhum, Hendry, McGibbon, Caldcr (s), Dnnnovirke. The holders had little difficulty in retaining possession of the Cup, the final scores being 2o —14. The challengers only scored on Jive heads.
