CABINET TO CONSIDER THORN’S SENTENCE.

The sentence of death imposed by Mr Just-ice Chapman on Samuel John Thorn, who was found guilty last we’ek of the murder of Sidney Seymour Eyre at Pukekawa, has not yet come before Cabinet for consideration. The usual procedure is for the Judge to forward a report upon the case. This report and other relevant information is placed before the Executive Council, which deckles whether or not there is groUud for varying the seutence of death. —Dominion.
