TRAGIC DEATH.

RESULT OF BURNING ACCIDENT. About three weeks ago Miss .Minnie Hoskins, aged 44 years, daughter of Mrs Hoskins of Avenue .Road, Fox’.on. was seized with an epileptic Ilf'a ml fell on a hoi stove, and was severely burned before being rescued. Medical aid was at ouee summoned, and the sufferer was removed to the District Hospital for treat meal, where she succumbed on .Saturday.

Deceased, since her childhood, had been subject to epileptic tits, but otherwise was in good health. According to the statement of Mrsy Hoskins she had a mania for lire, and when her mother left; her alone in the house for a while on the day of the accident she was careful to see that: there was no tire burning. Deceased had promised to call her - mother, who had gone into Hie garden, just before lunch, but as this was not done, Mrs Hoskins proceeded to the kitchen, to lind her daughter lying on. the stove. Deceased had lit. the lire, and. (ho top was off the stove, which was very hot. Apparently she had been seized with an epileptic lit, and was ipiite unconscious. She had severe burns from the scalp to the neck, , also on her face and hands. ” Dr. M.andl ordered her removal to the hospital. On November 28th deceased had a very severe hemmorrhage of the wound between the scalp and the neck, and she became gradually weaker. An imprest was held at Hie Palmerston X. Police Station on Sunday, before Mr A. J, (haliam, coroner, when evidence was given along rlie above lines, and a verdict was ’returned to the effect -that deceased died from shock as the result, of burns received through falling on a hot stove while in an epileptic lit.
