GARDEN PARTY.

A very enjoyable garden party was held by 'the members of the Presbyterian LadiesJ Social Guild at the residence of Mrs John Ross, Thynne Street, yesterday afternoon. There were over a hundred ladies present, representing the various churches. Mrs - Pallida y, president of the Guild, in opening, the party, mentioned the good object for which the effort was made. Games and competitions were indulged in, and afternoon tea was served. The grounds were in beautiful order, and ihe Guild expressed their indebtedness to Mrs Ross for placing them at. their disposal for the afternoon. As a result of the party, the sum of £22 will be forwarded as a Christmas gift to the Wellington Presbyterian Orphanage.
