MAGISTRATE'S JUDGMENT, The reserved judgments regarding the six charges of profiteering on the sale of tweeds laid by the Board of Trade against the wholesale firms of Bing, Harris and Co., Ltd., and Robert Wilson and Co., were given by Mr J. S. Evans, S.M., at Wellington yesterday.
The charge against Bing, Harris and Co. were of selling 7$ yards of suiting to Gottliard Krebs at 16s 6d per yard; to J. T. Lewis, Ltd., 12 yard.', of suiting at 11s 6d per yard; to Kit to and Son, 7:| yards at 22# Gd per yard; whieh prices were considered to have returned unreasonable rates of pro (it. Robert Wilson was charged with selling to James Smith, Ltd., nine yards of suiting at 32s per yard; to Xlotlhard Krebs, 3] yards of Alosg-icl suiting at 22s (id per yard; to M. Greenfield Of yards of Alosgiel suitings at 17s 6d ped yard. Bing, Harris and Co. were fined the maximum penalty for a company of £I,OOO on each of the three charges, and Wilson the maximum penally for an individual of £2OO on two charges.
