They were of the opinion that- the road from Hakerua railway station to Tane suspension bridge would be used.as the main thoroughfare for all through traffic between Shannon and Palmerston N,, because it was level and would shorten the journey by about three miles. The object in making the roads was to ('liable owners to cut. up land into .smaller areas, rendered necessary on account of (lax being destroyed by the yellow loaf disease. —Held over for next meeting.
