SENSATION AT CARTERTON.
It-MAX SHOT WITH REVOLVER. SLIGHT HOPE OF BEGOV El! Y. Carterton, Nov. 22. A sensational shooting affray occurred at Carterton on Saturday night in-a whare occupied hy .Frederick Thompson. Jt appears that Thompson and Anthony Bzoska, employed by the Wftirarapa South County Council, had been together on Saturday afternoon, and about 7.30 (hey adjourned to (he whare in company with J. Hzoska (a cousin), Edward Crossland and A. Spicer. Jn (he whare Thompson and Bzoska quarrelled, and the latter took off his-coat to tight, and it is alleged that Thompson drew a revolver and lined point 'blank at a distance of a few feet. A Indict entered Bzoska's neck and left side, and emerged on the right side. The patient was removed to the Greytown Hospital in a serious condition. Thompson has been arrested. Bzoska is aged 2ti, and Thompson 52. Reports from the hospital slate that the chances of Bzoska’s recovery are slight. Thompson was charged with the attempted murder of Anthony Bzoska. He was brought, before justices of the peace this morning, and remanded for a week'. No application for bail was made. Counsel for'accused staled that lie was an ex-policeman, and wished to say that he had been drinking heavily for some time. Bzoska had talked light, and in the heat of the moment ho (accused) picked up the revolver and. tired. He expressed sorrow for his act. VICTIM HIES. Carterton, Novemh. 22. Anthony Hzoska, the victim of the Miooliug affray at Carterton on Saturday night, died in the Greytown Hospital at 3.45 o’clock this afternoon.
