SERIOUS MOTOR ACCIDENT.
FIVE PEOPLE IN HOSPITAL,

A serious motor accidenl**occurred at AVaipatiki last evening. A ear,, driven by .John K’Leau, containing seven passengers, struck the end of the Kereru Bridge and landed upside down in a creek below. The occupiers had a miraculous escape from death. Five of them are now patients in the Dannevirke Hospital. Those injured were: — Mrs AV. Smith (pinned under car for considerable time and has a had seal)) wound), Airs D. APBelh (broken collarbone, bruises, and shock), Airs Peayee (sprained wrists and bruises), Aliss Pearce, aged 4 years (fracture of base of the skull and other injuries), Aliss Linton, aged 14 years (arm broken and injury to leg). Two little children, one a baby, escaped practically unhurt. The tlriver sustained bruises, shock, and cuts on the face and head.
