CORRESPONDENCE
(To the Editor.)
Sir! —E. G. Martin quotes Don Quixote. May I quote for his benefit the modern Don Juan. E. G. Martin*' tilts at anything:,” but does not know the points of the controversy, nor does he earc about them. He knows "Pom Pom,” which is enough for me.' I know he is shielding "Pom Pom,” the Band's critic. E. G. Martin is easily thrown into a panic, and has been “frothing” to get into this controversy, out to attack a Councillor and myself. He has been told that when Ids advice is needed "my” bund will pay him for it, and a donkey’s eye could see what that means. His ideas about bands are not original, and if he g'ot them from the Bandmaster, then
the Bandmaster got them from me. Prom E. G. Martin’s writings I extract his unoriginal hand ideas, and there is nothing left but a grievance. So far as E. G. Martin is concerned I declare the controversy with him as closed. —I am, etc.,
A. SMITH, • Hon. See. Band. [NO good purpose can be served by continuing this controversy. Me believe a conference is shortly to take place between the Band and Council, which, we hope, will result in a proper understanding being arrived at between the parties, Ed. 11. ]
