EXPORT OF CHEESE.
DUNEDIN, Last Night. Advice received by Mr B. G. Lamb, secretary of the South Island Dairy Association, stated that eleven- of the factories in the Wellington district, and one in Taranaki (with an output of 500 tons), have so far decided to consign their output of cheese to the New Zealand Producers’ Co-operative Association. The factories are the Belvedere, Parkville, Carrington, Tauatolii, Papatawa, Tarawa, Hopelands, Riverbank, United,' Newman, Kuku and Tariki. As showing the money value of the business of these factories alone, credits with the Bank of New Zealand amounting to a minimum £87,000 a month have now been established. A considerable number of factories in the North Island have not yet come to a decision whether they will consign to the New Zealand Co-operative Producers’ Association, or sell outright. Mr Lamb says that so far as the South Island is concerned, he will bo able to consign approximately 4000 tons, this season to the Producers’ Association, and there is a possibility that this amount will be increased. Letters of credit have been established with Dunedin banks to meet the payments on this 4000 tons.
