CROQUET.

Yesterday afternoon the following members of the local club visited Padding to take pari in the official opening of the lawn (here: —Mesdaines Ball, Healey, MaColl, J’arkes, Graham, Pearson, and Bornean. After' the opening speech a “Yankee” competition was played, the result being a tie between Mrs .Burkes (Foxton) and Mrs Mills (Feilding). In the play-off Airs Mills was' successful. The visitors were hospitably entertained by the home players. The Aianawatn croquet lawns will be opened next Wednesday, and alt members of the local club who desire to make the trip are requested to notify the secretary (Mrs Pearson.)
