The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 14th instant, from the

High Commissioner' for Now Zealand, London: —

Meal.- —Market quiet, Grade very slow. English prices lower; beef Is Id, mutton Is Sd, lamb Is 91d. Imported selling below maximum fixed prices, except New; Zealand lamb, for which demand is good. Butter. —Supplies very short, prices firmer. Average English £l9 2s, Irish £2O ss. Cheese. —Slow demand for English, and prices have a tendency downwards. Canadian prices irregular, spot £7.10s to £7 13s, ■white; £7 14s to £7 Kis coloured. Quotations c.i.f. mov about £7 9s.

Honey. —New Zealand market quiet and steady. Small demand for lower grade.
