FOXTON RACING CLUB.
ANNUAL REPORT. The following is the report to be submitted at the annual meeting of members of the Eoxton Racing Club, to be held in the Council Chamber to-night, at 8 o’clock : “The Committee for the year ended 31st July, 1920, cannot, owing to the lire in March last, which destroyed the Racing'Club’s office, and all books and records of the Club; present a balance-sheet. The financial position of the Club, however, is put in a statement as at the 3ls( July, 1920, and shows the Club to be in a sound position. The work of Greeting a rabbit-proof wire-net-ting fence round the whole of the racecourse is being gone on with, and will be completed at an early date. The new stewards’ stand, which it was hoped to build this year, cannot be gone on with, owing lo I lie regulations in regard to nonessential buildings brought in by tho Government. Several of the trees which obstructed the view from the grandstand have been removed, and with the improvements made at Hie course it is hoped the next meeting, on 22nd and 24th January, will be a success, as in the past. The training tracks are in good order, and relied efiedit on tho caretaker. At present'there are over 20 horses in training.” The statement of the financial posilioa as at July 31st, shows that the assets, made up of racecourse buildings, caretaker’s coltage, and plant, and loose boxes, buildings and cottage, Whyte Street, total €5,4(15. The liabilities arc: E. S. Easton, land, £125, debit ■ balance Bank of New Zealand £4O 13s Od, total £lO5 13s od, leaving a balance of assets over liabilities of £5,290 7s od.
