LEVIN’S HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS.
The Levin Chamber of Commerce has adopted the following recommendations ;
That Monday, 3rd January, 1021, he a public holiday; that Llasier Saturday be a public holiday. In the event of any special holiday falling on any day but Wednesday, Wednesday of that week to be a full working day. Holidays which for any exceptional rea.-on may occur duriny' the year shall be advertised in the usual way by the Mayor, if he deems it necessary, provided only that if the holiday is an optional one, it shah first be ayreed to by the ('handier, either at an ordinary meet my; or a special meet iny called for that purpose; that it i- ; to the interest of business places to (dose at 8 p.m. on the late iiiyht, which, if pul into operation, would be readily ayreed (o my the majority of people in the. community: that Saturday afternoon be a universal half-holiday.
