MYSTIC NECKLACE.
BEADS THAT MOVED A BED
Some remarkable manifest a lions, •■'Liles (he Scotsman, have occurred in Edinburgh in, association, wilh .an ancient Egyptian necklace. The present owner of the necklace, who lives in the west end of .Edinburgh, received it from Cairo at the end of H)l,'i. She did not attach much value to the necklace, which consisls of Egyptian glass heads, and pm it away in her jewel box.
Recently she decided to gel rid of it, and threw it into a wasfepapev basket. That night when near the basket she was startled by (he distinct feeling of a hand clutching her wrist. She afterwards hoard sounds Horn the basket as of a mouse moving. Examination revealed only waste paper and the glass heads. Siic gave I lie beads to her brother who, on going to hod, placed them on the pillow near his head. The necklace seemed to he moved on the ! inflow during the night by some unseen agency. A night or two later he again put the heads on his bed. He was roused from his sleep by the bed being moved from side to side. He afterwards heard the necklace produce a rustling movement. The following night he slept soundly witli the necklace in the room. At four o’clock next morning he was awakened by the bed again shaking. Other persons say that they have had similar experiences with the beads.
