MOTOR ACCIDENTS.
Christchurch, Yesterday. A series of motor ear accidents occurred y es torday. As the rersult of a collision on the Loburn-Assley road between a car and a motor cycle, Lawrence Doyle, a returned soldier, who was riding the cycle, snlfcred the loss of his right leg. The ear struck him on the log, which was broken in throe places. Doyle, was removed to the Christchurch Hospital, where the liuih was amputated. Another collision ,on the Rieear(oii road, between a ear and a motor cycle, resulted in the driver of the cycle and a companion being injured, the former having a leg fractured, and (ho latter a collarbone broken.
A third car and cycle accident occurred on the Ferry road. Dr. Daniel!, on the staff of the Military Hospital, was driving a car, and, endeavouring to avoid a motor cycle, ran into a telegraph pole. He was cut about and bruised, and rendered unconscious for a time, and the other occupants were also cut and bruised. The cycle struck the ear, and was smashed, but the driver and two ladies in a side-car all escaped except with minor injuries.
