MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

The, Clark of the Court (Mr P, Woods) supplies the following details of the business transacted at the local Magistrate’s Court for the quarter ended June 30th, 1920: — CIVIL. Seven sittings of the Court were held, three being presided over by the Magistrate, and four by Justices. Eighteen eases were heard, 17 plaints issued, one warrant and two orders made om judgment summonses. Twenty-six civil processes were served, and two warrants executed. The amount sued for was £2(Ki 8s Ud, and the amount recovered £lßl 2> 3d. The civil lees amounted to £l7 7s od, and the licensing fees totalled £7 13s od. CRIMINAL. Thirty-eight persons (including one female) were apprehended or summoned. Of these 33 were lined, one ease was dismissed, one person was imprisoned, two released on probation, and one order was made. The lines and fees totalled £(J(J Os Od. OLD AGE PENSIONS. Three old age pensions were granted, and one was refused.
