Christchurch, July 1

An imjuest was lie Id to-night, when evidence was given that deceased left his home on Wednesday morning, ami was not seen again by his family. Two letters were found on the body. One was addressed to a lady; it was in affectionate terms. The other read: —“Dearest Bather: Blease forgive me. 1. have done no evil. 1 had to go. I am sorry for all the-trouble you had straightening up my affairs, hut 1 eouldu’t very well do it myself. Please, father, will you give £5,000 of my cash to . She is a very sweet girl, and 1 love her more I ban life. The rest of my estate please divide as you think best. Do not sorrow for me, because 1 had a a. beautiful, happy life, thunks to you and mother and all (ho lauuly. Give my love to all, and think only sweet thoughts, and forget all sorrow in connection with me. Goodbye.—Your loving son (signed), G. L. Bowrou.” A verdict was returned that deceased died as the result of a bullet wound in the mouth and throat, self-intlieted.
