OI’I’OSKD TO A ST H IKK. Tl has been shown by the result of (he secret: ballot under the Labour Disputes .Investigation AH that the majority ol' the jockeys are opposed to the suggested strike. Out oi' 213 persons entiled to vole only 133 exercised the right. Of the votes recorded, 8 were in favour ol a strike;, and lib against. Invalid voles Dialled 50. ('unsiderable cunnnent has been iiccasioned by the fact that 50 votes were regarded as invalid. These, it is reported, were recorded on unollicial voting papers, but. even had they been counted they would have made no difference to the result: except to strengthen the decision against a strike.
