DUNEDIN MOTOR MYSTERY.

The motorist was in a hurry, and asked that his number plate be changed from Tu 804 to D 3777, (he former leilers represent mg (be Tuapeka County Council registration, and the latter Ibo Dunedin City Council, While this was being done, llie motorist went away, and during his absence lhe painter looked in the ear and found in a box a loaded revolver, which bore the appearance of having been recently discharged, a shirt deeply si a lin'd willi blood, and two or ih.ree blood-sl a died towels. The man relumed ami secured bis freshly-numbered ear, and drove off, Subsequently the painter communicated with the police, who, however, have so tar received no information-that would point to a tragedy. The ear was a three-seal-er four-cylinder Bniek. Inquiry at Tuapeka revealed the fact that there was no such number as 804 on the motor register, while the Dunedin number appropriated-by (lie stranger i> that of a well-known professional man.
