The annual meeting of the Presbyterian W omen’s Missionary Union was held last W eduesday, in the church building. There was a splendid gathering of the members. Reports were handed in by the Secretary and the Treasurer, showing that the Branch had had a very successful year. The following ladies were elected to office for the ensuing year: —President, Mrs Halliday; vice-president and Secretary, Miss Duncan; treasurer, Mrs Barr; harvest field secretary, Mrs John Ross. The minister, Rev. Thomas Halliday, then gave a short address on “The History of the Presbyterian Church in Heathen Lands”: “The call Avas insistent today; come over and help, us. .Encouraging reports are to hand from those Avorking in heathen lands, but don’t let us rest upon the achievements of the past.” The President provided afternoon tea, and a most enjoyable meeting was closed by the Benediction.
