THE GAS WORKS.

APRIL WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured at the local works during the month of April was 515,400 feet, which, with the amount in the holder on 'April Ist, 13,000 ft., made a total of 528,400 ft. The amount sold to consumers for lighting was 103,400 ft., for cooking and heating 180,200 ft., for power 5!),900 ft.,3,100 ft. was used in the street lamps, 22,000 ft. at the works and manager’s house, and there was 15,000 ft. in the holder on May Ist, leaving 78,800 ’ft., representing 14 per cent, of the output, unaccounted for.
