BEAUTIFYING THE RESERVES.
WE hope the public will extend practical sympathy to the newlyformed Beautifying Society. This can be done by linking up as members and assisting the funds in other ways. The object of the Society is to assist the Borough Council to beautify the 1 public reserves by planting suitable flowering shrubs, laying down garden plots and lawns, and converting unlovely spots into attractive retreats. The Council is limited to expenditure in Ibis connection, but with .the assistance of the Society much good work can he accomplished. The Council has already conferred with an expert in connection with the laying out of Easton Park, and the Society will prove of great assistance by cooperating with the Council in this connection.
