INFLUX OF ASIATICS.

WATERSIDERS UP IN ARMS. Auckland, June "2. The continued influx of Asiatics has led the Auckland waterside workers' to- a .decision nor to work after a certain date vessels carrying such people. This decision has been conveyed to the Advisory Board of the Transport Workers,’ Federation for its consideration.

A leading officer of the Watersiders’ Union this morning stated that the position was reaching what he considered to be an acute stage. The motion was earned as a protest against the continuous stream of Chinese and Hindus pouring into the Dominion. “The Chinaman,” ,he added, “is fast ousting the white man in the retail fruit trade, and the Hindus have gained such a footing that they are now able to do good business by hawking butter for sale from door to door’.”
