The High Commissioner’s cable, dated Isth insl., reads as follows: — The Manila market is quiet, with prices slightly weaker, hut at (dose moderate business was done at (he decline. Present quotations: d grade, damuiry-M.arch shipment, £(i(), Eebnmry-April and MarchMay shipments, .£(SO, sellers; Aprildune to duly-Septemher shipment sold at £(55. The New Zealand market is inactive and easier. Sellers’ closing quotations: High points spot £SO, fair £5(5; February-April shipment £54 and £52 respectively.
