ROAD FOREMAN’S REPORT,

The road foreman (Mr At. G. Hu’ntley) reported »■ at Monday night’s Council meeting as follows; —During the past month the road staff has been engaged spreading and blinding metal in Avenue Road, facing up culvert in Awahou Drain, clearing and burning' rubbish in new reserve, breaking up and relaying footpath in Main Street, carting retorts from railway station to gas works, and general maintenance work. The following drains have also been completed: Jenks, Futter, Coley and Union Streets., The metal ordered by the Council has come to hand very slowly so far. As it arrives, I propose spreading same on Russell Street, south end of,Johnston Street from Patrick Street corner, portions of Avenue Roa/1, Sandon Road, and Lady’s Mile. , '
