ACCIDENTS WITH FIREARMS.
Wairoa, May 3. Two accidents were reported from Wairoa Hospital yesterday. Hati Toromati, a middle-aged Native, lacked up a gun and endeavoured to break it, when it suddenly exploded, blowing off his right hand, also severely injuring an eye and other parts of his body. D. Cromhie, of Oponlaina, was also handling a gun when it exploded, badly shattering a thumb. Both are- doing well.
