The Juki:il meeting of t lu- ha'-al I,much o.r the Workers’ Educational Association was held in the Council Chamber on Saturday night. Dr. Mandl was voted to the chair. Tlu* annual report (already published ) iind hnlnnee-siieel wore rend and adopted. The following committee was edge led for the ensuing year. Alesdanies Moore and McMurray and Messrs Dr. Maud!, J. Chryslall, Furrie, I' 1 . A hibiey and Hillier. Mr Currie said he felt he could not continue the secretaryship,. 1M at the unanimous wish of (he meeting agreed to curvy on temporarily. A motion of appreciation of Mr Currie’s services during; the past year was passed. it was mentioned that Mr Seymour, of Wellington, would visit Fix! on shortly, and deliver a lecture to iinnuhei’s of the W.l'j.A. and the public, Endeavours were also being made to gel Professor Hunter and Mr Leigh Hunt: to also deliver lectures in the near future.
The ■question of Iho appoint mold ~f a tutor has yet to he decided, hut it is probable that Air M. Ayrton, ot Palmerston North, will he selected. Mr Ayrton is at present the tutor for the classes hi Peilding, Palmerston X„ Levin and Shannon. The session will he opened with {lie lecture by Mr Seymour, the date of which will be announced later.
