The Goldwyn feature, “Shadows,” starring the versatile prima donna, Geraldine Barrar, to he screened at: the Royal to-night, presents an old story in a new light. Tin; eternal triangle of the woman and the two men, but in a different atmosphere, with a. capable star thoroughly efficient caste, and direction and production that is practically flawless. Scenes of rare emotion and suspense follow one on the other, the story working up to a tremendous climax with a punch (o the heart. Barrar surpasses herself in this picture, which is guile the best iu which she Ims appeared. On Monday night a double feature programme will he screened. Both are Box films. “The Ballon Angel,” tea luring Jewel Garmon, is based on one of the best known of Gouverneur Morris’ short stories, “You Can’t Got Away With It.” “The Ballon Angel” reveals the struggles, the problems, the sacrifice, and the disillusionment of Jill Cummings, a. rich girl who, wheli she loses her fortune, barters her beauty to keep the ease and comfort to which she hud been accustomed.
