WEDDING.

PEN TECOST—ROBINSON

A very pretty wedding' was celebrated in All Saints’ Church yesterday afternoon, hy the Rev. \V. Raine, vicar, in the presence of a large assembly. The contracting' parlies were Mr Stanley C. C. Pentecost, youngest son of the late Mr 1; 11. and Mrs Pentecost, of Christchurch, and Elsie May, fourth daughter of Mr and Mis F. Robinson, of Thynne Street, Foxton. The interior of the church was tastefully decorated by members of the choir, with wjiich the bride had been associated for many years. The service was choral, and Miss Betty .presided at the organ. The hride, who was given away by her father, looked charming.' She wore a dress of ivory crcpe-de-chene, trimmed with while satin ribbon and orange blossoms, and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bridal bouquet of while cosmos, cactus dahlias and asparagus ferns, with pink and white streamers. The Imde was attended by her two sisters, Nellie and Rita, the former as bridesmaid, and the latter as (lower girl. The bridesmaid wore a dress of shell pink crcpe-dc-chcno, trimmed with mauve heads, black tulle hat, with colours to match, while the (lower girl was prettily attired in a white voile dress with lace and hand embroidery, and black silk hat trimmed with pink rose buds, and carried' a basket of flowers. Mr S. Compton officiated as groomsman. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold bangle, and to the bridesmaid gold necklet chain and pendant, and to tile (lower girl, a gold brooch ; the bride's gift to the bridegroom. was a set of gold sleevelinks. After the ceremony a reception was held at Malls’ tea-rooms, where the usual toasts were honoured. The bride’s travelling'costume was navy, with fawn embroidered vest, white velvet hat with feathered trimming.

The happy couple left by motor on their honeymoon, prior to settling in Christchurch, carrying away with them the best wishes of a large circle of friends. The presents, which were very numerous; - included several substantial cheques.
