THE Rev. Mr. Holliday, in' the course of his sermon at, the Presbyterian Church on -Sunday night, touched the vital spot when he asked that citizens should co-operate' with the police in putting down breaches- of: the law in the community. There are some people who talk glibly about the laxity of the police, but if asked to assist the guardians of the law to get a conviction by giving evidence of what they have seen and know before the Court, funk the ordeal. It is the. duty of citizens to see that the law is upheld tor the protection of society, and to co-operate Avith the police in bringing offenders to justice. If (hey do not possess this mural courage it would be better to hold their tongues.
