CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir. —Seeing Unit Pox lon has achieved such fame outwardly, would it not also be titling to examine our notoriety inwardly? Commencing with tires, we can boast of thirty inside three years! All hut one at night; then we have the burglary of a draper’s shop within a stone’s throw of the police station, wherein it is alleged a cart was used to transport the stolen goods; then we have a searching enquiry as to the whereabouts of a couple of: porkers, which, it is again alleged, subsequently found far from home, but, alas! dead meat. Finally, not to weary your readers', let us take a look into' the poker school within let me say a mile of the Post Office; or if you prefer “two up,” then hie you to the race course, or if you have a horse and no saddle, just grab the first you see. You’re quite safe. Or, if you want “spuds,” just visit your neighbour’s garden at night, likewise when you want a shirt or blouse, oh, well, just wait till washing day, and help yourself at the clothes line. So cheap. If your Sunday is dull, just take a walk up Main Street and see the various gyrations of sundry Sunday drunks. Then, when you have gone through the above, load yourself up with cart harness. Should you require company, flash a few bob in the street, and the effect will he magical —in other towns undesirables are moved on. We live in Eoxton! If you want any of the above to .stop, get a nightwatedunan. But why pay three? —Yours, etc., SOMNOLENT.
