The .Shannon Bowling Chib's nlimit! 1 pairs tournament w:is played yesterday. Eleven pairs took part, visitors being, present, from Pal■inerston North, Foxton and Levin. The weather conditions were ideal, the green was in splendid condition, and altogether a very pleasant day was spent. The Foxton Club was represented by one pair, Roore and V. D. Whibley (s). Four games of hfTeen heads each were played, and at the conclusion of the play the following had four wins each; Stephenson and Jolly (Palmerston N,), Pyke and Pollock (Levin), and Roore and Whibley (Foxton). 'fhe lina! games between these teams will be played on the Shannon green on a. date to be arranged. The following are the teams and scores in the games in which the Foxton players look part. Foxlon’s score being given first in each instance: Murray and Bovis, 17 —Id; Hensman and Cunning, 17 —11; O’Regan and Butt 20 —.17; Anderson and Fargher, 1.5—11.
On the local green yesterday afternoon the holders of the Club Pins, McKnight and Nyc, defeated the challengers, Mercer and-Maudl, by 25 points to 14, The next challengers tire Huntley and Smith. In tt game for the Stevenson Pennants, Christie and Stevenson, challengers, beat the holders, Parkin and D. Whibley, by 19 points to 17. after a very interesting game, the result being in doubt until the last bowl was played. Raimi and Mercer are Ihe next challengers, '' ■ Another game for the Nye ferns was also played, the holder-, having no iliflicully in retaining possession. The teams and scores were: Healey John Ross Raine Smith Crawley Huntley Walker (s) 23 Spring (s) 8 The next challengers are: Mercer, Mandl, Nye, Bryant (s).
