FOXTON VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.

A meeting of the Toxlon Volunteer Fire Brigade uas held in the. Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday evening for the purpose of organising the Brigade and electing officers and commit tee. The following were elected: —Captain, Mr Parkin; lieutenant, Mr H. Hamer; sublieutenant,. Mr A. Stevenson; engineer and custodian, Mr A. O’Brien: treasurer, Mr M. E. Pen-can. The committee to consist of officers and two brigadesmen. 31 ess is A. A. Smith and IT. Frankland being elected. It was decided to recommend the Council.to creel a station on the ■Jirebell site, and to purchase a, syren similar to one employed at Otaki. Messrs Smith and Perrean were appointed a deputation to wait on the Council in connection with the suggestions. The. Mayor was in attendance at. the meeting, which was a very enthusiastic nature.
