MRS. GRAY, AGED 02. AVe regret To chronicle the death, of Mrs Elizabeth Jane Gray, wife of Air R. E„ Gray, which look place on Sunday, after a long and painful illness. The late Airs Gray was horn at St. Helliors, Jersey, in 18-17, and was mistress of several school?* in her island home and England prior to arriving in Neva Zealand in 1885. She followed her profession in Nelson, and was headmistress in, the Blenheim school, and subsequently conducted a private school in Palmerston N,, until her marriage in 3.81)1, Upon taking up her residence in Foxton she devoted a good deal of time to music and theory, and many "pupils passed through her hands and won honours in musical

cxannnaiions in connection with Trinity College. Aiimn<! her pupils were .Mrs Moore (nee Miss .leaks),, Airs Kay (nee Miss Karri o'), Miss Honore, and other well-known musicians. The deceased was a highly cultured'Woman, and a horn teacher. In fact, her enthusiasm in this connection was the primary cause of her breakdown. Her kindly disposition endeared her to all with whom she was acquainted. In common with the public of Koxton and (fistriot, we extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved husband. The funeral will leave her late residence, Johnston hit reef, at -.JO p.m. to-morrow (Wednesday) tor the local cemetery.
