SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the a- , bo.ve was held lest ni#ht. Pre.sen t; Messrs Alexander, Claris. Hornblow, Parkin, Permit!, Robinson, sind tlie head teacher. On the motion of Messrs Robinson and'Parkin, Mr Fermat was voted to the chair. Arrangements in connection with the picnic, as set out elsewhere, •were discussed. Mr John Ross was appointed to th'e vacancy on the Committee caused by the retirement of Mr Kellow. The head teacher presented a lengthy report. Messrs Claris, Hornblow and Perreau were appointed a committee to confer with the teaching staff re furnishings. It was decided to apply immediately to the Board for subsidy on piano purchased. The question of improvements to the school grounds was left until the new committee is elected next month.
